State Sen. Melissa Agard and former Dane County Sup. Dana Pellebon will advance in the race for Dane County executive, the Wisconsin State Journal reports.
November’s winner will assume the role of Dane County executive for four years at a $142,420 annual salary. Former Dane County Executive Joe Parisi stepped down in May after serving in the role since 2011. He endorsed Agard, who got over 50% of Tuesday’s vote and has backing from 20 key labor unions and elected officials, as his successor. Agard also had raised roughly $241,000 by mid-July, including tens of thousands of dollars transferred from her state Senate campaign committee.
Pellebon, meanwhile, is also the executive director of Dane County’s RCC Sexual Violence Resource Center and Porchlight Inc.’s director of housing and operations — work that earned her The Business Forum’s ATHENA Award in 2023. Pellebon had raised $34,500 for her campaign by mid-July.
