Several Madison streets will shut down this afternoon to make way for the UW–Madison Homecoming Parade, NBC15 reports. The affected streets will begin closing around 4 p.m.
Langdon Street from North Lake Street to Wisconsin Avenue will shut down first and be used for staging. At the start of the parade at 6 p.m., the procession will move down Langdon Street to Wisconsin Avenue, then on to West Gilman Street, State Street, and North Lake Street, where it will end.
The parade will be followed by multiple events, including the Multicultural Homecoming Yard Show at Shannon Hall, starting at 8 p.m., and a pep rally at the Memorial Union Terrace at 8:15 p.m. There will also be a fireworks display over Lake Mendota, weather permitting, at 8:45 p.m.
