A judge confirmed Wednesday, Dec. 18, that Jennifer Street Market will continue on, but the future of the adjacent Schoep’s Ice Cream is still being discussed.
According to an update in the Wisconsin State Journal, bids received for the Schoep’s operation were not what Michael Polsky, the court-appointed receiver, was hoping for because each would have forced the company to immediately terminate production.
Officials are hoping to find one buyer to maintain the business and its 144 employees and decided not to sell the company’s assets separately. A “status conference” is planned for Feb. 5 to discuss other options.
