Madison public libraries have reopened for in-person service this week after 15 months of closure due to COVID-19, according to a Wisconsin State Journal report. Earlier in May, the library board voted to reopen the central library and branches with expanded services to include in-person browsing, self-service holds and checkout, and access to basic desk services. Currently, the library locations are limited to 50% occupancy with masks and social distancing required. After the current public health order expires on June 2, the library will announce a transition plan and new timeline for service.
