The American Parkinson’s Disease Association Wisconsin Chapter (APDA WI) and nonprofit Greywolf Foundation will be hosting the APDA Half Marathon, 5K & More event at Bakken Park in Cottage Grove on Saturday, April 13.

As the top annual fundraising event for APDA WI, proceeds from this race assist the Wisconsin Parkinson’s community with patient resources such as exercise and educational programs, support groups, and financial resources.

Now in its 12th year, the event features a timed half marathon and timed 5K run, along with a one mile walk and kids run. Both participants and spectators who purchase a social wristband can enjoy a hot breakfast including coffee, hot cocoa, and a beer tent. There will also be several activities including music, face painting, and a playground.

Registration for the races and event is available here. There are several sponsorship opportunities for companies and individuals as well.

Some local Cottage Grove businesses are joining efforts to raise money for the cause. BB Jack’s Cottage Grove will host pre- and post-race activities on the event weekend including live music, giveaways, discounts, and fundraising opportunities; and Comfort Suites Cottage Grove is offering discounted room rates for the many participants and families that travel to the event.
