Actuant Corp., a Menomonee Falls-based industrial and energy supplier, reported net income of $32.2 million in the second quarter, or 43 cents per share. That compares to earning of $22.1 million, or 30 cents per share in the same quarter of 2011.
Actuant reported quarterly consolidated sales of $378 million for, which were 14% higher than the previous year. Sales were led by the engineering segment, which reported $123.6 million in sales; the industrial segment, which reported $98.3 million in sales; and the energy segment, which had $78.9 million in sales.
Overall core sales (minus the impact of acquisitions) rose 8% in the quarter. During the period, Actuant completed the acquisition of Jeyco, an Australian supplier of rigging systems to the offshore oil and gas industry.
Sales for the past six months rose 19% to $771 million.
Also in the second quarter, Actuant reported a 128% increase, to $32 million, in cash flow from operations.
