Accuray, parent of Madison-based TomoTherapy, narrowed its net loss for the second fiscal quarter ending Dec. 31, and the news instantly spurred a 16% jump in the company’s stock price. The company, which makes radiation-based medical equipment for treating cancer, posted a net loss of $5.4 million (7 cents/share) on revenues of $94.6 million. That compares to a net loss of $29.2 million (40 cents/share) on revenues of $77.8 million a year earlier. Accuray also upped its 2014 revenue projections from a range of $325 million to $345 million to a range of $340 million to $350 million.
