Absentee ballot applications approved for mailing

In a 6–0 vote, the Wisconsin Elections Commission approved the mailing of 2.7 million absentee ballot applications, according to a Wisconsin Public Radio report.

Letters will be sent Sept. 1 to nearly all registered voters in Wisconsin who have not already asked for absentee ballots. There are 158,000 exceptions who were flagged by a multistate government database as having potentially moved.
