DeForest-headquartered ABS Global Inc. announced in a recent WARN notice that it is terminating the employment of 44 employees, effective April 19.
The layoff is in large part due to an operational consolidation which will result in the closure of the IntelliGen laboratory at the ABS Dekorra facility at N3959 Stebbins Road in Poynette. The Dekorra facility will remain open, but the closure of the laboratory portion will result in the loss of 36 jobs at the lab.
Eight additional IntelliGen staff positions will be eliminated in other Wisconsin facilities, including one at the ABS office at 1525 River Road in DeForest and seven remote or hybrid positions that report into facilities at 202 Moravian Valley Road in Waunakee and/or 6308 Pepsi Way in Windsor. Local officials for DeForest, Poynette, Waunakee, and Windsor have received notification, as has the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development.
This layoff is expected to be permanent. On Feb. 19, affected employees were provided with notice of the impending layoff. The employees are not required to report to work between Feb. 19–April 19, though they will remain employed during that time and receive full pay and benefits unless they terminate their employment voluntarily before April 19.
