Abortions in Wisconsin were previously paused due to President Donald Trump’s Medicaid cuts, but Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin will resume abortion services in the state, according to a Wisconsin Public Radio report.

Services had been paused since Oct. 1, with the organization offering medication and surgical abortions at one clinic in Madison and one in Milwaukee. A Sheboygan clinic offers medication abortions.

Clinics had been barred from receiving Medicaid reimbursements for one year due to a provision in the One Big Beautiful Bill Act if they performed abortions as a “prohibited entity.”

Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin made a move to remove its “Essential Community Provider” status to no longer be labelled a prohibited entity under federal law and be eligible to receive Medicaid funds.
