Dane County Executive Joe Parisi is hoping the Dane County Regional Airport will soon be powered by one of the state’s largest solar-powered projects, according to a story in the Wisconsin State Journal.

Parisi is eyeing 41-acres of airport-owned land north of the airport where as much as 8 megawatts of electricity could be generated. That would be 80 times larger than the airport’s existing solar installations.

The project would be financed privately with no public money and RFPs have been issued, but there is no timeline yet.
