Estimates to replace the Government East Parking Garage as part of the massive Judge Doyle Square project in downtown Madison came in $10 million higher than anticipated due to current market conditions and inflation of material costs, according to an article in the Wisconsin State Journal.
As a result, the city’s finance committee approved an additional $6 million for the garage, but reduced spaces from 600 to 560.
The money will come from the Parking Utility reserve fund.
