548 UW-Madison faculty members to get raises

To retain talent, the University of Wisconsin-Madison will give 548 faculty members a pay raise.  

In total, over 2,300 faculty members across the state’s 13 public universities are receiving raises through $27 million in funding provided by the state budgetthe Cap Times reported. 

According to UW system spokesperson Mark Pitsch, the raises will “address workforce needs that will benefit communities across Wisconsin,” he told the outlet 

According to the Board of Regents, about 68% of Universities of Wisconsin faculty earned less than the median salary of their peers in previous years.
