Over 500 jobs at Air Wisconsin will be impacted due to shifting operations and the end of a partnership with American Airlines, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports. A total of 513 workers are being laid off, but 294 of these are temporary because the employees are represented by a union.

The International Association of Machinists, Aerospace Workers represent the clerical, office, fleet, and passenger service, and maintenance employees. The Airline Pilots Association represents the pilots, the Association of Flight Attendants represents the flight attendants, and the Transportation Workers Union of America represents the dispatchers.

Salaried and management employees being permanently laid off total 219. Layoffs are anticipated to begin around March 31 and will impact jobs at General Mitchell International Airport and Appleton International Airport.
