Five Madison teachers have received funding from SONIC Drive-In for classroom projects, according to NBC15. In August, SONIC Foundation donated $1 million to fund requests on DonorsChoose, a website where individuals can contribute donations for teacher-submitted classroom projects.

The five teachers who received SONIC funding include:

  • Ms. Johnson for “Student-Centered Organized Classroom” at Huegel Elementary School, grades 3–5;
  • Ms. Xiong for “Diverse Books for Little Readers” at Midvale Elementary School, grades PreK–2;
  • Ms. Shari for “Full Day 4k … So Much Fun to Be Had!” at Orchard Ridge Elementary School, grades PreK–2;
  • Ms. Shampo for “A Seat at the Table” at Sherman Middle School, grades 6–8; and
  • Mrs. Muzilla(Dabel) for “Gearing Up for Back to School!” at Thoreau Elementary School, grades 3–5.

Proceeds from every SONIC purchase go toward the SONIC Foundation, which supports local schools and teachers; this donation is part of SONIC’s Limeades for Learning initiative.
