The city of Madison is currently looking to fill five key leadership roles in its government, The Capital Times reports, as it currently operates without a permanent police chief, city clerk, transportation director or director of the Community Development Authority. The leader of Metro Transit is also set to leave at the end of May.
The city’s Police and Fire Commission will select the new police chief, while Mayor Satya Rhodes-Conway may appoint replacements to the other roles. Each role is contracted for five years and negotiated while the hiring process is underway.
Roles are anticipated to be filled by early fall.
