40-bed rehab hospital planned for Fitchburg

Alabama-based Encompass Health Corp. plans to build Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Fitchburg, according to a report from the Wisconsin State Journal. The expected completion date of the project is set for some time in 2023. The 40-bed rehabilitation hospital will be located at the southeast corner of South Fish Hatchery Road and Nobel Drive and will be the first stand-alone rehab hospital in Wisconsin for the for-profit company. Encompass Health Corp. has 140 rehab hospitals in 35 states and Puerto Rico. The hospital will offer rehab services including physical, occupational, and speech therapies, along with nursing care, to restore functional ability and quality of life for patients recovering from major illnesses and injuries.
