Madison will see the addition of four new housing developments with a total of 270 units following recent city approvals, according to The Capital Times. Most of the units will be affordable or allocated for Madison-area seniors.

The city’s planning and economic development team recommended funding two senior housing developments — one on Madison’s north side and the other on the west side — as well as two other housing developments — on the north side and East Washington and Seventh avenues, respectively.

The City Council on Nov. 26 gave the green light to partial funding for the four development projects. The city also said it will direct $10 million in city-managed federal funds toward Phase 1 of the “Taking Shape” Triangle redevelopment on West Washington, Regent, and South Park streets.
