Madison-based Alliant Energy reported net income of $67.6 million (60 cents a share) on revenues of $717.2 million for the second quarter ending June 30.
That compares with net income of $61.8 million (56 cents a share) on sales of $750.3 million for the same period in 2014.
The increase in profits was attributed to lower billing credits to retail electric customers of Alliant’s Iowa utility, Interstate Power & Light.
