By using $2.4 million in federal funding, the state’s Department of Workforce Development is updating its current antiquated unemployment system, according to a Wisconsin State Journal report.

The upgrades will include 24-hour claims processing with a faster, integrated cloud-based phone and messaging center to allow individuals to access their claims information by phone at any time of the day or night.
