Gov. Tony Evers, along with the Wisconsin Department of Administration and the Wisconsin Public Service Commission, have announced that more than 36,000 utility customers across the state received help to pay back utility bills. The qualifying customers received help through the Wisconsin Home Energy Assistance Program and the funding came from the federal fiscal-year 2021 allocation for low-income home energy assistance. The arrearage on accounts as of April 9, 2021 was paid off based on information provided by utility customers. Eligible households did not need to apply to receive this assistance.
