The Wisconsin State Fair saw a 20% drop in attendance this year following high temperatures and humidity, along with severe flooding that forced it to close early on its last day, according to the BizTimes. The news comes after last year’s fair set an attendance record.

The Wisconsin State Fair reported 892,968 attendees for 2025, down from 1,136,805 in 2024. The fair also sold around 330,000 cream puffs this year, down from its 400,000 average.

This year’s fair also saw:

  • 10,676 competitive exhibits showcased in the Grand Champion Hall;

A spokesperson from the Wisconsin State Fair said Friday, Aug. 8 logged temperatures of over 90 degrees and 78% humidity, both of which hindered daytime traffic. Severe weather forecasts on Saturday and Sunday’s early closure worsened the impact on attendance and sales of the event’s food staples.

The fair is allowing guests with unused Sunday admission tickets or vouchers for a variety of products and attractions to exchange passes for an equivalent at the 2026 Wisconsin State Fair.

Next year’s fair, which will mark the event’s 175th anniversary, will be held Aug. 6-16.
