The U.S. Department of Education awarded a $10 million, five-year grant to the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI) to help support youth with disabilities in correctional facilities, WMTV15 reports. The money comes from the U.S. Department of Education’s Disability Innovation Fund program.

DPI, the Wisconsin Department of Corrections, and the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development will collaborate to create a reintegration support system to help individuals with disabilities obtain in-demand, well-paying jobs upon exiting correctional facilities. Individuals will receive coaching, training, mentorship, and education-related support.
