Bikes for Kids Wisconsin, a nonprofit dedicated to increasing the use of bicycle-based transportation for underserved communities in Wisconsin, recently distributed 1,200 bicycles to youth and adults.

The bikes are provided through the 2026 Annual Bike Giveaway Program. Hundreds of recipients attended an in-person event to shop for their bikes at the bike center on April 11.

Approximately 800 bikes were collected by organizations outside of Dane County by the truckload. Close to 40 nonprofit organizations, schools, tribes and municipalities in 14 counties across the state received bicycles for 2026.
