Year of Giving ends with a bang

More than 600 people enjoyed Madison Gives 2018 and the grand finale of Madison Community Foundation’s 75th Anniversary Year of Giving on May 17. During the Year of Giving, MCF awarded $2 million in grants to support and celebrate the Madison area’s most unique natural and cultural assets. The Year of Giving also welcomed 100 new individuals and couples to the Legacy Society, which recognizes people who have made the decision to include MCF in their wills or estate plans. The highlight of the evening was the 12th and final 75th anniversary grant announcement for “Together We Thrive,” a $1.1 million challenge grant — the largest grant in MCF’s history — to the Foundation for Madison’s Public Schools to expand the Community Schools Initiative, a national educational model that closes opportunity gaps through family and community engagement.
