With higher prices and the cost of food and other items rising, the World Bank said Thursday it expects global growth to drop, the Associated Press reported

The agency expects the global economy to grow by 2.5% this year, which would be its lowest growth rate since the COVID-19 pandemic first began in 2020.

The bank said it expects about two-thirds of all countries to experience a dip in growth.
