Wisconsin’s unemployment rate held steady at 3.3% in July, as the state added 1,200 nonfarm jobs during the month, the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development (DWD) announced on Friday.
The data, which reflects July 2026 preliminary estimates from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, said there are a total of 3,042,900 nonfarm jobs in the state.
Wisconsin continues to outpace the nation in labor force participation, as the state’s 64.5% rate in that category is 3.1 percentage points ahead of the national rate of 61.4%.
Based on the Bureau of Labor Statistics’ preliminary estimate, the national economy shed 23,000 jobs in July.
The state’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate of 3.3% is also higher than the national jobless rate of 4.1%.
