The Wisconsin Housing and Economic Development Authority on Monday will present grants to three Oshkosh area nonprofit housing facilities.

The presentation will be held at 11 a.m. at Becket’s Restaurant, 2 Jackson St., in Oshkosh.

Recipients of permanent grants from the WHEDA Foundation include ADVOCAP, which will receive $27,794 to add a fourth bedroom, replace the siding, windows, doors and floors of its facility as well as remove trees to improve drainage issues and Greater Oshkosh Healthy Neighborhoods Inc., which will be granted $50,000 to build a duplex for long-term, affordable rental housing for up to eight individuals.

A $50,000 emergency/transitional housing grant was awarded to Solutions Recovery Inc. to rehabilitate multiple sober living homes, including roof replacement, lead abatement and a bathroom addition.

Elmer Moore, Jr., CEO and executive director of WHEDA, will speak on the WHEDA Foundation’s Housing Grant Program, a statewide initiative that provides capital funding to develop and improve housing and shelters for Wisconsin’s most vulnerable residents.

The program was established in 1985 in response to reductions in federal housing and shelter funding.
Since its inception, the WHEDA Foundation has awarded nearly $35 million for capital improvements.
