Can new Federal Reserve chair Kevin Warsh reveal more about his views on the economy and inflation without limiting his future flexibility?

Economists and investors hope to find out today as Warsh delivers an address during the Fed’s annual economic symposium, according to a report in the Associated Press.

Thus far in his brief tenure, Warsh has avoided providing future guidance, believing it limits the Fed’s flexibility when setting interest rates.

But analysts believe that by keeping his cards close to his vest, Warsh fails to provide clear guidance on whether he believes rates should be raised, lowered or left unchanged when fighting inflation.
