More solutions to Greater Madison’s housing shortage are on the way after Veridian Homes held a groundbreaking Thursday for Reiland Grove, its newest residential neighborhood on Madison’s east side.
Under current plans, the development will have 561 homesites and offer a variety of home styles, a future neighborhood park and a large area of open green space.
According to Veridian Homes, a Wisconsin-based homebuilder, the neighborhood’s mix of homes will offer choices for first-time buyers, homeowners looking to downsize and others seeking a new home.
“Reiland Grove gives us an opportunity to bring a broad range of new home options to Madison’s east side,” Chris Ehlers, president of Veridian Homes, said in a press release.
“Whether someone is buying their first home or looking for a home that better fits their next chapter, we want them to find choices that work for the way they live,” Ehlers said. “We’re excited to see this neighborhood take shape and welcome its first homeowners.”
The company said select homesites will back up to the neighborhood park, offering homeowners an opportunity to enjoy views of that space.
“The park and green space will be an important part of what makes Reiland Grove feel like a neighborhood,” said Matt Brink, vice president of land development for Veridian Homes. “We see these spaces as places where neighbors can spend time outside, get to know one another and build connections that continue as the neighborhood grows.”
The neighborhood is located within the Sun Prairie school district.
Nearby amenities include a Hy-Vee grocery store approximately three miles from the neighborhood and the dog park at Sycamore Park, which is about 1.5 miles away.
