By the time Wisconsin families gather for Thanksgiving dinner, the UW Board of Regents could choose a new leader for the University of Wisconsin-Madison, according to a report in the Wisconsin State Journal.

Regent Amy Bogost, who co-chairs the search committee looking for a successor to Jennifer Mnookin, said the committee will bring finalists to campus the week of Nov. 9-13 and could name a new chancellor before Thanksgiving.

Eric Wilcots, dean of UW-Madison’s College of Letters and Science, is serving as interim chancellor until Mnookin’s successor takes over.

Mnookin served as UW-Madison chancellor for four years before leaving to become president of Columbia University in New York City.
