No matter which political party emerges victoriously in this year’s Midterm election, change is in the wind, especially in Wisconsin.
With a new governor, Assembly Speaker and Senate Majority Leader to be decided by this year’s vote, the Wisconsin Alumni Association will devote a UW Now Live program to the forces shaping the Midterms.
The online program will be held on Oct. 27 at 7 p.m.
Former business dean Mike Knetter, now an executive adviser to Athletic Director Shawn Eichorst, will moderate the discussion.
Featured speakers are Barry Burden, the Lyons Family Chair in Electoral Politics at UW-Madison and director of the UW Elections Research Center; and Ross Dahlke, an assistant professor in the School of Journalism and Mass Communication at UW-Madison.
The panelists will address issues and races that could determine control of Congress, the current electoral landscape and how it compares to historical patterns and how AI and social media are changing elections.
To watch live and chat with panelists, registration is required. Those who can’t watch the night of the show will be sent a link to a recorded version.
