In-state undergraduates at the University of Wisconsin-Madison will pay a little more for tuition next year, the Cap Times reported.
The UW Board of Regents approved a 2% tuition increase for resident undergraduate students on Thursday that will go into effect next school year.
In-state undergraduates will pay $210 more in tuition per year at UW-Madison. The total cost with fees, tuition and room and board could cost a student nearly $25,200.
“Nobody wants to increase costs to students and families,” state Superintendent Jill Underly, a board member, said at the meeting. “The costs of operating a world-class public institution continue to rise, yet state support covers only a fraction of the university’s overall cost.”
