Ugly Dumpling Studio, a community art studio on the west side of Madison, is now open.
According to a press release, the studio hosts an open workspace for members and guests to work independently on projects and to host classes and events. The studio’s in-house equipment offers the ability to work on printmaking, including a darkroom and screenprinting supplies, etching press and risograph, a cross between a photocopier and screen printing.
Ugly Dumpling Studio is owned and run by Kate Thomfohrda and Bug Richardson Seling.
“Ugly Dumpling Studio is designed to be a space for artists to use shared equipment and workspace that may otherwise be difficult to house or afford at home,” a statement said. “We aim to create an environment that is comfortable, accessible and affordable for both professional and hobby artists to work and grow.”
