The United States will impose 25% tariffs on imports from Brazil citing unfair trade practices and lax anti-corruption enforcement, the Associated Press reported.

Set to take effect July 22, the tariffs exclude numerous items like coffee, beef and oranges.

The U.S. has had a goods trade surplus with Brazil for years, making the move a curious one.
