The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources announced Thursday it reached a settlement agreement with Tyco, holding it accountable for PFAS contamination in Marinette.
These “forever chemicals” pollute water and are linked to various cancers.
Tyco Fire Products LP in Marinette will have to provide clean drinking water to residents in the area, must address PFAS discharge and must pay $10 million into a PFAS trust fund to help clean future PFAS contamination.
The state has other lawsuits still pending against Tyco, Chemguard, 3M, DuPont and several other defendants for PFAS contamination.
