TDS expands broadband network in Wisconsin

TDS Telecom announced Monday it would expand its high-speed fiber service with new development projects in seven communities serving more than 25,000 homes and businesses.

Upon completion of the projects, the company’s fiber network will include Beaver Dam, Ripon, New London, Hortonville, Brillion, Colby and Abbotsford.

TDS, whose network features internet speeds up to 8 Gigabit, said it is also broadening its existing service area in Janesville, Greenville, Marshfield and Eau Claire.

TDS also plans network upgrades in its existing service area with funding help from the federal Enhanced Alternative Connect America Cost Model program. E-ACAM helps fund broadband deployment in rural areas.
