The Supreme Court on Tuesday voted 6-3 to allow the Trump administration to continue quick deportations of people to countries other than their own while the court considers the policy’s legal basis, according to a report by the Associated Press.
The high court’s order paused a lower court decision that requires the federal government to give migrants an opportunity to make objections.
The Supreme Court will hear arguments in December on whether the Trump policy is lawful and whether lower courts had the authority to block the deportations.
