Summit Credit Union, a member-owned financial cooperative led by President and CEO Kim Sponem, has been named a 2026 Woman-Led Top Workplace, a national award to recognize organizations led by women.
The award is based on confidential employee feedback surveys administered by the workplace research firm Energage.
Summit is credited with championing financial well-being for women and their families while fostering a workplace culture where all employees are supported.
Women comprise 65% of the credit union’s hourly workforce, 54% of salaried employees and 38% of its executive leadership positions.
Under Sponem’s direction, Summit has grown into the largest member-owned financial cooperative in Wisconsin with $8.8 billion in assets and more than 286,020 members.
The credit union has 965 employees across 58 Wisconsin locations.
“This recognition is especially meaningful because it reflects the voices of our employees,” Sponem said in a press release. “As a woman-led organization, we’re committed to creating pathways for women to grow and advance while fostering a workplace where all employees can thrive.”
