Controversial brewery owner Kirk Bangstad has had his brewer’s permit revoked by the state, according to a report by Wisconsin Public Radio.

Bangstad, the outspoken liberal owner of the Minocqua Brewing Company, has until Aug. 4 to appeal the state’s decision and can operate during the appeal process.

The business has locations in Minocqua and in Madison.

No reason was given for the revocation, but Bangstad believes it is politically motivated.

Bangstad, who operated a liberal super PAC that he closed in June, has faced multiple lawsuits about his online postings.
A frequent critic of President Donald Trump, he was questioned by the FBI about comments made on Facebook after an alleged assassination attempt on Trump.
