Spectrum awards $30,000 to Operation Fresh Start

Spectrum is providing Operation Fresh Start with a $30 million grant to assist the nonprofit with its youth education and employment training programs.

A presentation took place Thursday during a ceremony at McCarthy Youth & Conservation County Park in Cottage Grove. It was attended by Operation Fresh Start Executive Director Brian McMahon, volunteers and Spectrum officials.

Spectrum has now donated $80,000 to Operation Fresh Start over the past two years.

Founded in 1970, Operation Fresh Start provides young adults in Dane County with education, mentoring and employment training to gain career readiness skills.

Program graduates earn their high school diploma, driver’s license and certifications in construction or conservation.
