RISE Wisconsin, a local Dane County nonprofit, will host Breakfast for Nourishment, a community fundraiser benefiting the Respite Center program, on Thursday, Sept. 10, from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m., at The Tinsmith in Madison.

The event will bring people together to learn more about respite care and the role it plays in helping families facing the daily pressures of parenting and caregiving.

The Respite Center is the only 24-hour crisis nursery in Dane County.

“Families are facing significant barriers every day, and they shouldn’t have to wait until they’re in crisis to receive the support they need,” Scott Strong, executive director of RISE, said in a press release. “Respite gives caregivers a safe place to turn during some of their most vulnerable moments.”

Tickets for the breakfast cost $35. Attendees will hear from families who benefit from respite care.
