The second “Ride For Your Life” bike ride and walk will be held Oct. 4 with an additional element — a rally at the Wisconsin State Capitol to demand safer streets in Wisconsin and nationwide.

As part of the rally, the 2026 event will honor Sasha Rosen, a 17-year-old high school senior who was struck and killed by a speeding driver in February, and participants will call on lawmakers to pass Sasha’s Bill (AB 655/SB 659).

The bills would require GPS-enabled intelligent speed devices in the vehicles of so-called “super speeders” — drivers convicted of reckless driving or repeated or extreme speeding.

Participants will ride six miles or walk one mile from Brittingham Park to the State Capitol, followed by a rally with Rosen’s family and elected officials.

“Sasha’s death was not an ‘accident.’ It was a failure–a failure to adequately protect people that aren’t in cars,” Nadya Rosen, Sasha’s mother, said in a press release. “We can do better, and we aim to fill the streets to tell our leaders that we must do better.”

The event begins with rider and walker check in at 1 p.m. at Brittingham Park, 829 W. Washington Ave. People can register in advance online.
