Prairie Farms has closed one cheese production facility and plans on closing another, laying off nearly 100 workers.
Operation of the Prairie Farms production facility at Shullsburg Creamery ended July 20.
The creamery, located at 208 W Water St., Shullsburg, employed 43 workers.
The company announced those employed at the retail cheese store would not be affected.
The company also announced it will permanently close the White Hill Cheese location at 110 Miner Way, Shullsburg, on Aug. 14.
That closure affects 54 workers.
