In a move to promote economic growth west of Interstate 94, the Pleasant Prairie Village Board voted Aug. 10 to expand a tax incremental financing district that already includes the Haribo property. The Haribo company makes gummy candies.
According to an article in the Wisconsin State Journal, the board voted to expand Tax Incremental District 11, adding new territory and approximately $27.3 million to the cost of the TID. That brings its total cost to nearly $83.4 million.
The change will help fund infrastructure improvements that accommodate future economic growth.
The expansion must still be approved by the village’s Joint Review Board and the Wisconsin Department of Revenue.
