Pivotal Health, a technology company focused on house call health care for college campuses nationwide, was named a PurposeBuilt100 winner, which recognizes the top 100 fastest-growing mission-driven companies in America, by the Super Crowd, Inc.
Pivotal Health earned its spot by tackling student health care when living away from home. Pivotal was founded in Madison by University of Wisconsin-Madison alums and built first for University of Wisconsin-Madison students.
“PurposeBuilt100 recognizes 100 companies nationwide each year that pair meaningful social or environmental impact with outsized business growth,” a statement said. This inaugural class was selected from a broad screening of eligible businesses.
Clinicians from the business treat students in their dorm rooms and apartments.
“College students are easy to reach and hard for the healthcare system to serve,” Sal Braico, founder and CEO of Pivotal Health, said in a statement. “They’re stuck between an overrun campus health center that’s open during classes and an insurance card that doesn’t work at the local urgent care.
“Our business model meets them at the dorm room door instead. Getting recognized as one of the fastest-growing mission-driven companies in the country tells us Madison was the proof of concept. Now we’re taking it nationwide to every campus that needs it.”
