The Center for Black Excellence and Culture is nearly ready for its grand opening this month at 671 W Badger Road in Madison.
The $32 million, 37,000-square-foot facility was envisioned by Rev. Alexander Gee, Madison’s longest tenured senior pastor, and his sister, Lilada Gee.

It’s designed to bolster Black entrepreneurship, arts and culture; promote Black wellness; and offer gathering space for the Black community that Madison has historically lacked.
The Center includes spaces for performances and events, leadership development, coworking and more.

The Gees and other leadership will welcome the community on May 6 with an open house from 2-6 p.m.
