As executive director of Taliesin Preservation, the nonprofit steward of famed architect Frank Lloyd Wright’s historic home in Spring Green, Carrie Rodamaker said she’s determined to preserve the property, share its stories and grow its number of yearly visitors.
Taliesin encompasses Wright’s 800-acre estate, which includes his 37,000-square-foot home and studio. In 2019, it joined seven other Frank Lloyd Wright locations on the list of UNESCO World Heritage sites. Visitors to Taliesin can tour the property, visit its nearby gift shop and restaurant or participate in photography, painting and design workshops.
Rodamaker has been with Taliesin Preservation for 24 years, working her way from gift shop assistant manager to the organization’s top role, and she said the property holds a special place in her heart. While she said important steps have already been taken to restore Taliesin, there is plenty more to do, and in the meantime, Rodamaker wants to continue to expand public awareness of the rich history it offers.
