This past fall, Madison College’s Construction & Remodeling program moved into its new home. The $10.3 million, 30,000-square-foot facility at 1849 Wright St. is providing more space for instruction, enhanced tools, expanded course offerings and easier access to campus resources.
The C&R program helps students gain hands-on experience to prepare for work on real job sites. This includes constructing tiny homes which are sold to area partners like the city of Madison.
Enrollment in the C&R program is increasing steadily — up 26%, in fact, from its pandemic-era low in 2021 — and is helping to meet industry demand, especially at the local level, where workers in this space are needed more than ever.
