Peter C. Vogel, president and CEO of Vogel Bros. Building Co., will receive the Wisconsin Biohealth Business Achievement Award during the 2026 Wisconsin Biohealth Summit in October.
The award recognizes business leaders whose vision, leadership and commitment have helped Wisconsin’s biohealth industry grow and thrive.
Lisa Johnson, CEO of BioForward Wisconsin, said Vogel has helped build the physical infrastructure and partnerships “that allow Wisconsin’s biohealth companies to innovate and grow.”
He represents the fourth generation of his family to lead the company, a family-owned construction firm founded in 1875 and headquartered in Madison.
Under his leadership, Vogel Bros. has completed over 100 life science projects, valued at more than $1 billion collectively, during the past 30 years.
They include new construction or renovation for Arrowhead Pharmaceuticals, MilliporeSigma, University Research Park, Fujifilm Cellular Dynamics and others.
The Biohealth Summit will be held Oct. 21–22 at the newly expanded Baird Center in Milwaukee.
During the event, BioForward will also honor Kathleen Schmainda, professor of biophysics at the Medical College of Wisconsin.
She will receive the Hector F. DeLuca Scientific Achievement Award, which recognizes groundbreaking scientific contributions.
Schmainda established the Medical College’s first translational brain tumor imaging research laboratory. The research contributed to the development of a national protocol for the clinical use of perfusion MRI, an advanced medical imaging scan, for patients with metastatic brain tumors.
